The seminar is tomorrow (Thursday, March 5th) at 3pm. The venue is auditorium at City Campus. My E-Commerce class (MIS 456) is mandatory. Also, the 80 students from Media Studies (40 main campus, 40 city campus) will also be attending. Invites have been extended via flyers, emails and Facebook event. Capacity is 200 people and we expect a full house.

Badar Khushnood is one of the best resources and speakers in Pakistan on the subject. He has spoken at many conferences where people pay thousands of Rupees to listen to him. He has also spoken to universities across Pakistan and has been well received. You can search for him and his seminars on Facebook, etc.

Here is the brief intro to the session:

- Internet Marketing: This talk involves building up the case as to how important Internet is in our lives today, how fast this change is accelerating, where does Pakistan stand in all this, how marketing is evolving, identifying the digital lifestyle, the search for consumer connections, the degree of stickiness, Internet marketing with a shoe string budget, few local case studies, digital accountability and lastly, other digital opportunities.

- Blogging: The idea behind this talk is to encourage users to explore unconventional/new business models, the simplest being - create online content i.e. blog, why blogging is important, the state of blogosphere, the key success factor, importance of social media in Pakistan, how to start blogging in 3 easy steps, how to drive traffic to your blog, how to monetize your content i.e. earn online, the paradox of love and lastly, few local case studies.

I want to thank the administration, Dr. Sayeed Ghani, The Infosys society, students (Aamir Anwar Ali, Hassan Hashmi, Samar Irshad) in helping me coordinate this at such short notice.
